Ko Ninja Lesson

The Ninjammerz style is probably pretty different from the way you are presently dancing. To help you get the most out of the Ninjammerz workshop we are offering this 3 hour “Ko Ninja” (little ninja) course. We will help you to use your body more efficiently in line with what the Ninjammerz are teaching.

The iSwingTokyo Group Lessons and Intermediate Intensive Lessons are based on the rhythm and movement ideas that Shawn and Sachiko have learned from Ninjammerz. If you have not taken these lessons and do not understand those leading and following concepts, the workshop may be difficult for you. This class is for you.

In this class we will explain the differences between how people are dancing now and the Ninjammerz style/philosophy. We will explain why we feel that it is more efficient and gives the couple more freedom. We will only go into the most basic of basics. Relaxation, Body Motion, Rhythm, connection, leading from the body. You may THINK that you know how to do this but we see everyday on the social floor that even people who have been dancing a long time (10+ years) do not! If you understand these root, core things, you will get MUCH MORE out of the workshop. We are interested in moving away from “do a move, do a move” to actually dancing 100% pure lead and follow as a connected pair. Not moves, movement!

We will provide this lesson on 2 separate days. The 2 days will contain the same material. Please choose the day that is best for you. Of course, you may come to both days if you so desire to reinforce the material. Just come to the studio. Even if you are not taking the workshop, this class can be very beneficial and may change the way you think about movement.
